It is a foundational resource for anyone working in the disability sector who provides mealtime assistance, and it aims to improve participants' quality of life by promoting enjoyable, nutritious meals and preventing serious health problems like choking.
It teaches practical skills, including:
Mealtime assistance and Mealtime Plans
Identifying and responding to swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)
Planning for appropriate food textures and meals
Correct mealtime positioning
