The Key to a Successful Community is Participation, Communication and Education

Firstly, at SDS, we pride ourselves in transparent, warm, caring, compassionate communication. We are here to listen.

Secondly, we follow through from assessment, coordination, preparing support plans and to reporting.

Our Stones Education portal drives the process so your NDIS goals are accomplished.

The Key to a Successful Community is Communication and Education

Communication

Effective communication upholds the rights of people with disabilities to have choice and control and to make decisions about their own lives. With effective communication, workers can support and enable people to express themselves, to be heard and be safe.

Participation

Participants are at the heart of everything we do.

We engage with participants, their families and carers, along with the disability sector, advocacy groups, providers and other stakeholders, in many ways, every day.

Education

SDS is unique through its mission, vision and values for the disability industry.

We aim to give quality support rather than quantity support to our clients, staff and all involved in the processes, with the aim to build capacity socially, in the community and civically, by offering a unique business that has a foundation in education. The client’s education aims to build capacity by teaching them to become independent in areas that are specified in their plan management, while the support workers’ education aims to empower them with the knowledge, skills, and tools to teach and support the clients.

Stones Disability Services aims to build capacity through many avenues, such as:

Health and Daily Living Support, Education Services, Independent Living Support, Help Around the House, Employment Services, Supported Holidays, Transport and Appointments, Social and Community Support, NDIS Plan Management and Events.

As a participant of SDS for 8 months I can testify that my support worker has been there for me through the hard times. He has taught me to budget on my disability pension so I have food in my fridge. He helps me with my daily activities and we go out in the community every day. I feel safe, secure and listened to.
